Magazine proposal draft

Film magazine proposal

This is a report/summary of my magazine and various data on what the perfect or preferred contents of a magazine would be and how I can appeal to a large audience of people.

My magazine will be aimed at the teenage/ young adult audience as they share similar interests in movies, so the main focus will be on tv series released recently due to most People enjoy watching long lasting series like "game of thrones" or "power" because they are filled with hot of plot twist etc.The magazine would be sold in whsmith , hmv ,sainsburys and Tescos as these are the main stores which have a lot of frequent visitors or people going through their morning commute. The magazine would be sold for £2 as its a reasonable price in my opinion as it is not asking for a large sum in return of the information you will gain
My magazine would include interviews, reviews, highlights and opinions on the latest Blockbuster movie and Posters would come with the magazine. The magazines front, back cover and spine will be made out of card. The pages inside will be standard paper which is used in news papers. The production cost shouldn't be too high as it won't be a large book due to the amount of pages and extras it will have.

Production: Most of the budget would sponsor distribution because manual labour is used to hand out copies as this would be the most efficient and convenient way to sell the largest sum of magazines possible in a small time. Hence why 35% of the budget would be consumed when distributing. The magazine cost should be between £2-£3 as this is an ample sum, Another high consumer of the budget would be production just as the price of imprinting and cost of paper will alter the total cost depending on the use of font, colour, thickness and other concerns taken into account.

There are also other factors when creating a film magazine which have to be covered. Postage and packaging is another element to take into consideration as there will be buyers on the web who would rather purchase copy of the magazine online.

Crew:Majority of the crew are personnel who will be handing out or delivering the magazines to notorious book stores within the uk; whsmith, water stones, Waitrose stocking the stores with a limited amount of copies. People who would promote the magazines are also people who have too be taken into account as they act as a form of advertisement promoting the magazine to their viewers who would increase sales drastically.

Location: The district where the magazines will be advertised affects the sum of sales. Advertising on taxis, bus or other forms of travel is very convenient because interior advertising ranges around £20 which is relatively cheap when you research other options such as  billboards. Bench adds are also another good medium of increasing sales because they can be found around busy areas like train stations airport etc.

Props: A trolly would be used in sales so the sales person will be able to carry a large amount of magazines with leisure when transporting the copies between various distributors. Vans for hire would be an effective way to distribute the magazines as there wouldn't be a large amount of money being used to maintain the vehicles.

IN conclusion a large budget would be required to effectively distribute and promote the magazines so that it would receive a lot of media attention further increasing sales as the best ways to promote these days is through social media because theres a large traffic of views browsing every minute.
