Total film magazines put the centre of attention on James Bond (Daniel Craig) the leading role of Spectre the latest instalment in the James Bond franchise a movie which entered cinemas on the 26 October 2015. This will catch the readers attention because James Bond is a well know character with a long history in Hollywood's cinema, this instantly makes the person think of any other movies being produced the same director as he might be know for producing very enjoyable films as it hits a wide variety of peoples criteria hence generating larger sales in the future .The magazine also has a sub section on the sides which mentions other blockbuster movies and actors quoting events that have occurred on set this might gain the readers attention to watch other movies the actor has starred in. Furthermore the layout and the magazine is simple yet eye catching as it uses cooler colours contrast well with the main image creating a calm atmosphere where the reader isn't put off by very bright colours. Beneath the movie title is the director being quoted "the point is to make it (spectre) better than sky fall " mentioning the leading directors main goal of the movie making him look dedicated to improving the franchise in general. Overall the layout and the contrast of colours on the magazine is very well thought out as it looks formal which attracts the target audience because it suits the formal style of the movie.
Rue Morgue Magazines
Rue magazines focuses on a more wide spread variety of media not just movies but comics books etc. this means they are able to sell to a larger audience because there may be people who read comics whilst other read movie reviews hence why they might have larger sale counts compared to other magazine companies. The magazine also has a main focus which is the hobo with a shotgun which is lead by Rutger hater this spotlight for the actor might make people search for other movies he's worked on because he is very skilled in this profession. The title of both the movie and magazine stand out very well so they don't get unnoticed by readers, they have a memorable look to them and the art style is really unique and gritty which again might be the selling point of the magazine because it can be used as a poster. The colour and focus the target audience would be teenagers as it uses very saturated yet mundane colours which give of a nice contrasting look which is appealing to most people as it strays away from the generic magazine look/ theme. The magazine also has a sub section which mentions other horrors/thrillers recently released, increasing sales for the publishers.
In conclusion the magazine is a anomaly among others due to its authentic colour palette.
